      Take-Away Points of the Lecture

      1. If a true food allergy exists, emergency medication must be immediately available to the patient.

      2. Perceived food allergy in adults is much more prevalent than is actual food allergy in adults.

      3. Confusion exists about what constitutes a true food allergy and what constitutes another immunological reaction or an intolerance to food.
